For an element that can't be seen, air certainly holds a vast array of sacred symbolism – such as communication, breath and life. When we consider how the air element interacts with our senses, we can experience this part of nature in a way that helps us become more present and sensitive to the world around us.
We have chosen to do the Element Series as a point of focus to interlace with our teachings because of the incredible connection the elements have to each of our educational pieces and to us individually.

Education
Our lives, our worlds, our business and our creative hearts are always changing. Growing and evolving along side one another. We must learn how to anticipate that change and embrace it for what it is. Join Lauren and Lindsey as we discuss this idea of change and movement and share ways to allow it to benefit us.
Location
We have found a gorgeous space in downtown Denver, CO. This lovely space was featured in 5280 Home magazine and has amazing design aspects and incredible natural light. It features a Japanese inspired bathroom with wooden bath tub, high ceilings and skylights. We will be utilizing the living room, master bedroom and the bathroom.
We are providing lite snacks, please bring your own lunch items. We will have a short break between models.
Styled Session
For this workshop we will have extended time (1 hour !) with one model at a time. One of our models is a mother embracing the change of her children leaving home. Her babies have grown and are now young adults themselves. We will explore what this chapter of motherhood is like for her and learn about how she is honoring it. Our second model will be a newly postpartum mother and her brand new babe. She is on the precipice of motherhood. We will document this fragile and beautiful time for her, sitting in the newness.
We will explore two varying sides of motherhood, both from an emotive place and on the physical realm.
Timing
Please arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 so that we can start promptly at 10:30am. We will be instructing as we move through the day, rather than having a sit-down dedicated class time. We will have one hour with each model, each session beginning with observing Lindsey and Lauren creating and then shifting into open time for you to create while we continue to offer guidance from the sidelines. There will be a short break between models where you can grab a bite to eat and converse among the group.
FAQs
Is this workshop open to all photographers?
YES!! We welcome photographers at all stages of your career / creative path. We will not be going over basic camera skills, so you will need to understand your camera enough to operate it independently. However, we LOVE getting creative and teaching and learning tricks, so please don’t feel like you can’t discuss settings and try something new. Whether you are just starting, or have been doing this for years, we believe that there is ALWAYS something new to learn!
I am really hoping to build (or enhance) my portfolio, do we have permission to share what we create?
Absolutely!! We have designed the workshop so that you have the freedom to explore, be creative, try something new without the pressures or expectations of having to deliver a full gallery. All models have signed a full model release, granting permissions for you to use the images on you website, social media and marketing materials.
We do ask that each participant agree to provide each model group with a minimum of FIVE edited high resolution images. You are welcome to send more, but not required.
What is the cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens… blizzards, monsoons, freaking Covid (can’t believe we are still talking about this), births, locusts, other unforeseen events…REFRESH will do its best to accommodate within reason. Please recognize that we are a small business and due to the intimacy and limited seats of each workshop, we are not able to refund.
